Friday morning (1/28/2011) Fred woke up and told me our son's name. What a great decision! As soon as it came from his lips, I loved it: Nicholas Allen Kimmons is the name that we will give our new baby. I don't know what we will call him. We may just stick with Nicholas, I am sure when he gets among his peers they will call him Nic. I am so relieved. I just had no idea. I am glad God placed a name on my husband's heart.
Fred has been taking business classes and after only one week, these classes have been so helpful to me. He has given me some traits that I should work on developing. I didn't even know that I lacked, but can clearly see after three years of business that they are needed. Now, I am not being too hard on myself, I have most of the qualities of a successful small business owner according to his text book, but the three that I need to develop will take me places :-)
I have gathered all the information needed for my big presentation in April. This week, I will begin to organize my thoughts and get everything on powerpoint. It should take about two weeks. My presentation in March is not new, it is one I gave last year, so I am not too worried about that one.
I also decided on a date for beginning my maternity leave. The best decision I have made is not to spend a lot of money on Nicholas. I know what a new born really needs. So we will stick with the basics. I must have one of those nursing chairs. That is a must. I also need a carrier and a bassinet. And he won't really need much other than huggies and wipes until about four months.
I watched a lady give natural birth. Her labor only lasted 4 hours. This was her second child. She had her baby at a birthing center that allowed for warm baths and massaging. I wish I could do this. The closest birthing center to us is in Nashville, TN and I am sure insurance won't cover that type of service. Anyway, she had a hospital birth with her first son and was given pitocin and an epidural. She said that she didn't like this and would not do it with her second child, so she went all natural. She did great job. It was a very inspirational video...Still deciding on natural birth...Leaning really close to it.
